Doing Good Together! – “Kind People” festival kicks off at Muzeon park of arts
The civil society festival will be held until September 6
On August 29, a civil society festival “Kind People” was launched in Moscow, organized by the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
The main theme of the festival is charity and the motto is “Doing Good Together!” The festival will last until September 6 with nine eventful and interesting days awaiting all guests and participants.
The purpose of the festival is to draw the attention of the general public to the issues of civic engagement, volunteering, and the activities of non-profit organizations.
“The festival “Kind People” has become a generally recognized platform for acquaintance with successful social projects and involving citizens of our country in non-profit activities. We can see that the festival is attracting more and more participants and guests with each passing year. This suggests that charity and volunteering have long become a part of our daily life, – said the President of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation Lydia Mikheeva. – It is necessary to create comfortable conditions for NPOs, foundations and volunteers who are always ready to provide a helping hand to society and the state, it is necessary to encourage the desire of people to get involved in solving social problems, to acquaint them with charity, as well as create a community of civic activists who can share their experience and successful practices. The festival "Kind People" also aims to tackle these problems. This approach will create favorable conditions for the further development of civil society in Russia”.
Until September 6, guests of the festival will receive a lot of useful information on how to provide assistance to those in need by attending daily master classes and engaging in interactive activities. Blood donation points will operate on the territory of the festival, volunteers will collect stationery for orphanages and boarding schools, as well as food for dogs in animal shelters. What is more, everyone will have the opportunity to recycle waste paper and plastic caps.
On the opening day of the festival, guests will be able to take part in exercises with Samira Mustafaeva, a multiple time medallist of the World Team Championships and a world-class gymnast according to the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). Furthermore, Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to attend free classes in dancing, yoga, sand animation, table tennis, mini golf, drawing, acting and much more.
A lecture hall will also be organized at the festival venue where all guests will have the chance to listen to more than 40 lectures from well-known public figures: members of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, leaders of the largest charity foundations, representatives of the media and experts.
On the first day of the festival, the chairman of the “Liza Alert” search and rescue squad, member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation Grigory Sergeev is due to speak at the lecture hall. He will talk about new technologies that are being used during the search for people and the achievements of "Liza Alert."
The organizers of the festival will also hold a workshop “Volunteering and Charity – 5 Steps to Get Started.” The speaker will be Evgenia Kuznetsova, Development Director at Young Group Social. And in the evening, the winners of the social advertising contest "Advertising of the Future" will be awarded.
During the nine days of the festival, Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to learn more about the work of 40 charity foundations. Also, as part of the festival, the campaign #DoingGoodTogether will be organized. All funds received during the campaign will be given to the charity foundations participating in the festival and affected by the pandemic. The event will culminate in a large charity concert on September 5 with performances from Klava Koka, rap duo HammAli & Navai and other stars at the Green Theater in Gorky Park.
