Doing Good Together! – “Kind People” festival kicks off at Muzeon park of arts

On August 29, a civil society festival “Kind People” was launched in Moscow, organized by the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

The main theme of the festival is charity and the motto is “Doing Good Together!” The festival will last until September 6 with nine eventful and interesting days awaiting all guests and participants.

The purpose of the festival is to draw the attention of the general public to the issues of civic engagement, volunteering, and the activities of non-profit organizations.

“The festival “Kind People” has become a generally recognized platform for acquaintance with successful social projects and involving citizens of our country in non-profit activities. We can see that the festival is attracting more and more participants and guests with each passing year. This suggests that charity and volunteering have long become a part of our daily life, – said the President of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation Lydia Mikheeva. – It is necessary to create comfortable conditions for NPOs, foundations and volunteers who are always ready to provide a helping hand to society and the state, it is necessary to encourage the desire of people to get involved in solving social problems, to acquaint them with charity, as well as create a community of civic activists who can share their experience and successful practices. The festival "Kind People" also aims to tackle these problems. This approach will create favorable conditions for the further development of civil society in Russia”.

Until September 6, guests of the festival will receive a lot of useful information on how to provide assistance to those in need by attending daily master classes and engaging in interactive activities. Blood donation points will operate on the territory of the festival, volunteers will collect stationery for orphanages and boarding schools, as well as food for dogs in animal shelters. What is more, everyone will have the opportunity to recycle waste paper and plastic caps.
