Moldova continues blockade of Transnistria by denying entry for CCRF member
At the Chisinau airport, on Saturday, Mr. Fedorov was denied to enter the territory of Moldova for reasons unexplained
The RF Civic Chamber considers Moldova’s decision to ban Georgy Fedorov, a Chamber’s member, from entering Moldova on his way to Tiraspol where he was invited by his colleagues from Transnistria’s Civic Chamber as an erection of barriers for traditional humanitarian and human contacts between the two countries, as reported to the RIA Novosti by the Chamber’s Media Office.
At the Chisinau airport, on Saturday, Mr. Fedorov was denied to enter the territory of Moldova for reasons unexplained. The civic leader headed back to Moscow with the very next flight.
"The Civic Chamber claims its protest and draws attention towards establishment under false pretenses of artificial obstacles for contacts between public figures, which is an erection of barriers for traditional humanitarian and human contacts with Transnistria. This position of the Moldovan authorities is the continuation of its unacceptable policy of social and economic blockade of Transnistria", the statement says.
Earlier, five observers from the Russian Association for Protection of Electoral Rights "Civil Control", who were headed to monitor the elections in Transnistria, were also deported from the Chisinau airport.
