Thanks to Civic Chamber’s assistance a woman regained money for the failed tour

In February 2016 the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation received a letter from Tatiana Fokina addressed to the Chairwoman of the Civic Chamber Commission on Public Diplomacy and Support for Compatriots Living Abroad Elena Sutormina. Tatiana Fokina bought a tour to Egypt from a tour operator "Sanmar Tour Ltd.", but due to the crash of the Russian airplane A321 at Sinai the travel was canceled.
In her letter, the applicant complained that she was not recompensed for losses related to the failed tour, while “Sanmar Tour Ltd.” Just kept silence without giving any clarification about loss expenditure".
Elena Sutormina forwarded a request to the Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-Being (Rospotrebnadzor) Anna Popova asking to check "Sanmar Tour Ltd." for compliance with the Russian legislation. Also the NGO "Club of Tourist’s Right Protection" was engaged to assist the applicant in obtaining full coverage for the canceled travel to Egypt.
As a result of these requests Tatiana Fokina was recompensed for her losses. "I would like to thank you for your assistance in getting the refund for the failed tour in Egypt. I received back the complete sum of money for the tour. I wish you all the best! " - Fokina wrote in her letter to the Civic Chamber.
