A letter of the Principal Bishop of the Russian United Union of Christians of the Evangelical Faith (pentecostals) (RUUCEF), RF Civic Chamber Member Bishop Sergey Ryakhovsky to the U.S. Ambassador in Russia Michael McFaul in connection with the hurricane Sandy which had impacted the U.S. East Coast and caused numerous human victims:
On behalf of the believers of the Russian United Union of Christians of the Evangelical Faith I am expressing the words of support to families and friends of the victims of the hurricane and the flood. This is an awful tragedy, when people die in the result of a natural disaster. One more time the humanity could feel its helplessness before the powerful forces of nature. We are mourning together with the American people. We also admire the courage of those who are saving other people’s lives despite the danger. Let the God give wisdom to the responsible and managing workers of all levels and special services to make them capable of optimal decisions, so that those who still might be saved were saved, and the damages caused by the element rampancy minimized. Our special pray will be about those who survived through this awful ordeal and are in hospitals. We are begging the God to give the miraculous healing to all wounds and blessing to all doctors caring for the victims.
