Public Councils and Regional Civic Chambers

The Civic Chamber of Russia assists the formation and development of regional Civic Chambers and public councils at federal bodies of power.

•    Public councils have been established at 42 federal bodies of power; 24 federal bodies of executive power have decided not to establish public councils as similar public advisory and consultative structures already operate there.
•    By mid-2009, 55 of the 83 administrative entities of the Russian Federation passed laws on regional Civic Chambers; Civic Chambers in 51 entities have been fully formed.
